While working for a technology firm that partnered with government and municipalities, Chad started a YouTube channel with his then seven-year old daughter. The incredible following and freshly minted relationships garnered from that channel spawned into other related ventures, including a nationwide LEGO fan experience, Brick Fest Live! Chad grew up in Philadelphia, attended Penn State University and now resides in Bucks County just outside Philly.
In this episode we talk about Chad’s first LEGO set, starting the YouTube channel with his daughter where they review LEGO sets, the lightbulb moment that led to creating the first live event reaching 24,000 (at the first one!), why it’s okay to pursue an idea that is already being done, advice for people interested in starting live events, conversion rates, how Minecraft is being used in classrooms and 3 ways to make money off live events.
